Jim's Review

My new favorite restaurant here. It, like Georgio's is a Mediterranian restaurant. The decor is clean and tasteful. The dining room is wisely broken up, making dining an intimate affair. The location is ideal for those of you spending some time at Tower City, the Jake, or the Gund. Reservations are strongly suggested, if not a requirement. Although it's casual, no man there was without a jacket and tie.

We started with a lobster bisque. They also served some wonderful breads (such as their honey walnut bread). My lovely wife enjoyed the Maine lobster tail medallions, which was served over potatoes with a creamy white wine and garlic sauce. I had the filet of beef. The tender, cut-it-with-your-fork steaks were served over a bed of sauted mushrooms and leeks. A white wine broth and some fancy kind of potato (which, I swear, were simply homemade potato chips) completed the plate.

Although we were getting full at this point, we opted for dessert. I highly recommend the parfait. It was out of this world - creamy and light. The chocolate torte was very rich, in contrast. If you have the room and a sweet tooth, though, then you'll love the tortes.

The service was on par for this type of experience. The server was attentive and would go out of his way to accomodate his guests. The meal service was also well paced (kudos to the chef on this point). The meal was not rushed.

Of course, such a dining experience comes with a cost. Entrees are typically under $20 (lobster - $17.95, filet - $18.50). Dinner for two ran about $75 for two (including bowls of bisque, wine, coffee, and dessert). It was worth every penny.
