Beautiful ambiance. Inadequate food for the price and poor entertainment.
The meal was pleasing although over priced for the Quality. Portions were generous and tasty.
Service was very good with special attention to the table.
Prices reflected Downtown costs but in no way reflected the quality of the food. Portions were generous though.
The evening was mediocre with the entertainment leaving a lot to be desired. On a Saturday night we expected more. Some gentleman singing to tapes. Should have left his harmonica at home.
Stefani's Review (10/31/00)I must admit, at first I was skeptical. A cabin in the age of the internet? But when I walked in I was immediately taken by the rough hewn look of the wood, the iron couplings, and the stone fireplaces. The young lady at the door greeted us (my husband and I) in a friendly manner and escorted us to a lovely table by one of the fireplaces.
My husband ordered the T-Bone Steak with garlic mashed potatos and vegetablesand I had Scampi. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and the potatoswere not too strong with garlic. The Scampi were broiled with a preparationof seasonings and had a fresh taste. The food was presented beautifully on a large white plate with a garnish of parsley.
The lady who waited on us was just what I like in a server, she was around when we needed her but not hanging around the table and wanting to chat. Her appearance was clean and her attitiude good.
The cost of the dinner with tax and tip was around sixty-five dollars. I thought that the value was very good considering the wonderful rustic ambiance of the room.
The night I was there, a singer named Rick Burke was there. His interpretations of ratpack songs dead on. Overall, the experience was wonderful and we will definitely be back.
