Family restaurants are pure Americana. Hash tossers, waitresses that call you "sweetie," eggs over easy 24 hours a day. Mr. Steak tries to be more. Steak and lobster tail, stuffed flounder, wine list... It doesn't succeed.

Like other family restaurants I've reviewed, I will advise the diner to stick to the basics here. Have a cup of joe, a plate of spaghetti, or an omlette and hash browns. Save the lobster dinners for some place without paper napkins.

There really isn't much more to say about Mr. Steak, except avoid the steak. They're lower quality than what I've come to expect in restaurants. Outback and Long Horns do steak better.
