The Hylander is one of those restaurants that you pass by many times, not daring to enter. You must stop at the Hylander!
This family style restaurant serves breakfast all day long and has a nice list of daily specials. It is clean and the menu is traditional family style, and they offer soup, salad, bread, and a choice of rice pudding or jello with every special. The food was excellent! One of our party had the "All you can eat" fish fry for $5.95. He was jammed with food. He got two pieces of fish, fries, pieroges, soup, salad, bread and dessert. He couldn't eat the extra piece of fish that was cheerfully offered. I had the the Cajun Chicken Sandwich which was great plus a cup of homemade Cream of Mushroom soup which was delicious. My bill was under $5.00 and that included my soft-drink.
The service is quick and no problems with refills on beverages. (Some chains could learn a lesson here.)
Value is the only word I can use to describe what I saw at the Hylander. The food was good, and very reasonable. They serve breakfast specials till 11am, but the overall menu is priced for everyone.
You won't be disappointed.
