About as German as they get around here. A family restaurant located on 303 about a mile west of I-71.
The food quality is mixed. Their stuffed peppers are fine. Their cabbage rolls are okay, but the sauce is a bit heavy on the tomato for my Hungarian palette. They make an attractive salad and their clam chowder is pungent, but good. On the down side was their potato pancakes (surprise!). I expected better from a German restaurant.
In general, the service is adequate, if annoyingly chipper. One exception, however, was the receptionist (or lack there-of). It's a confusing restaurant to enter, since the building is used by other businesses, too. We ended up wandering into a dining room, and were admonished by the receptionist. It is VERY poor service to scold patrons because the service staff is not at their post! That's not a minor faux pas in my book.
Fortunately, the prices were low. Dinner for two is in the $15-20 range. If you choose wisely, the meal can be a good one. Go off on a tangent (such as the Friday fish fry) and you're on your own. And avoid frau Heimat at your own risk!
