The interior of this restaurant was surprisingly nice, given the depressing little strip mall it's placed in. While the atmosphere is casual, the diner can sense that the food is likely to be good.
The food was good. The menu carries a great variety of meals, from calzones and pizza to veal and steak. At either end of the spectrum, Catan's delivers. Their beer and wine selections were very well suited to the menu. Even the salad and bread were above average! The portions were such that I did not sample their desserts.
We went at their busiest hour. Still, the service did not suffer. While the waitresses were quite busy, they seemed to employ enough of them to cover the crowd. I give the wait staff there a thumbs up.
The price of a meal can vary, given the different types of food at Catan's. Most dinner entrees were under $15. Wines by the glass were around $3. Our light dinner for two, including drinks, ran $25. Considering how pleased we were with our meal, it was a bargain.
