Atmosphere. Some restaurants mistake a bunch of junk on the walls for theme, but not this one. This restaurant is a fun looking place. Lit tiki torches outside, dark interior. The Amazon Trail tastefully lives up to its theme.
The food is presented simply and tastes great. Billed as seafood and steak, it has all that, and more. A well-selected wine list, with many per-glass selections, a variety of appetizers, excellent soups and decent salads, pasta dishes, shish kabobs, sandwiches, and chargrilled white meat selections are available, too. Their steaks are cut and prepared well, and the seafood is fresh. They are open for lunch, too, with a selection of sandwiches.
No matter when you go, whether it is for lunch or dinner, I have received outstanding service. They employ enough waitresses to cover the tables with ease. The waitresses, themselves, have been unerringly enthusiastic and friendly. I cannot describe what a refreshing change this is from the service found at even some of this area's pricier establishments.
Speaking of price, the prices here are very reasonable. Most wine selections are less than four dollars per glass (having several wine selections per glass makes sense, since it is likely that one party would select a heavy steak dish and another a light fish platter). The proprietors know that Clevelanders read a menu right to left, so most entrees are less than fifteen dollars (and we're talking crab legs, ribeye, and the like...not just some token pasta dishes). Dinner for two, with some bells and whistles, can be had for less than fifty dollars, easily. I don't know how long these prices will hold, so scurry on out there while the getting is good.
